Direct answer

Start with the 14-day Cloud trial (Pro-level features, 1,000 executions, 5 concurrent, 180-second timeout, no card). Buy Starter (20€/month billed annually) when a hosted instance with 5 concurrent executions and a 5-minute duration cap is enough. Buy Pro (50€/month billed annually) when you need higher concurrency (the public table lists 20 / 50), a 40-minute duration cap, admin roles, and the larger Assistant-credit allowance.

  • Business (667€/month billed annually) is a self-hosted license, not a Cloud upgrade path.
  • An official FAQ dated 1 October 2026 names Pro-1 at 10,000 executions and Pro-2 at 50,000 executions. The Starter execution quota was not printed on the public cards we fetched.
  • Whether n8n is the right product lives on the n8n review.

1. Who this pricing page is for

You already think execution-based automation might be the product. You need the bill — Cloud vs self-host, trial vs Starter vs Pro vs Business — not a second review.

UA did not generate an invoice. Figures come from the official pricing page, Cloud FAQ, and Assistant-credits FAQ, checked November 6, 2026. Public Cloud cards list euro prices billed annually; we will not invent a monthly (non-annual) sticker. There is no affiliate button on this page.

2. Official plans

Official wording: all listed Cloud plans include unlimited users, unlimited workflows, and every integration. Pricing is based on monthly workflow executions. Overage fees on Starter and Pro are described as capped; Enterprise overage is custom. Startup plan: 50% off Business if you have under 20 employees and qualify.

3. Real cost by scenario

Scenario A — A daily workflow (about 30 executions/month)

30 executions sit far inside the official Cloud trial’s 1,000-execution cap, and far inside the documented Pro-1 size of 10,000. The decision is hosting and features (concurrent cap, duration, shared projects), not the execution count. Starter at 20€/month billed annually is the hosted entry card we fetched.

Scenario B — A workflow every 5 minutes

Official docs give this example: a workflow that runs every 5 minutes produces about 8,600–8,900 executions a month. That sits under the documented Pro-1 size of 10,000 executions and would overflow a 1,000-execution trial. We still will not claim it fits Starter, because Starter’s quota was not on the cards we fetched.

Scenario C — 10,000 runs of a 25-node workflow

On n8n that is 10,000 executions, regardless of the 25 nodes — the documented Pro-1 size exactly. On a per-step vendor the same graph would multiply by node count; that contrast belongs on the Make and Zapier pairwise pages.

Scenario D — You must self-host

Community edition: no license fee; you pay machines. Business at 667€/month billed annually if you need SSO, Git, environments, and queue mode. Startup discount: 50% off Business if you qualify. Enterprise if you need the compliance and support rows.

4. Trial, overage, Assistant credits

Trial: Cloud trial includes Pro-level features (the page lists Insights, 5-day workflow history, unlimited evaluations, Assistant) but not admin roles, the project Editor role, Named Versions, Workflow Diffs, or the n8n public API. Business has its own 14-day trial; a card is required for that one.

Overage: official comparison table says overage fees are capped on Starter and Pro. When you are close to exceeding quota, materials say the sales team reaches out on some annual Business paths; Cloud workflows are described as continuing, with overage possibly applying if you do not move up a usage tier. We are not inventing a per-execution overage sticker the public page did not print.

Assistant credits: 1,600 on Starter; 4,000 on Pro-1 and 9,600 on Pro-2 (FAQ from 1 October 2026). Unused credits do not roll over. Extra credits can be bought. Workflows keep running if Assistant credits run out.

Plan changes: official Cloud FAQ describes proration on annual upgrades; monthly-to-monthly upgrades bill the new plan on the next billing date with no proration; Business is not a Cloud upgrade target.

5. Billing pitfalls

  • Inventing a Starter execution number from a competitor’s comparison page.
  • Budgeting Business (667€) as if it were a Cloud row.
  • Treating 20€ and 50€ as monthly no-commitment stickers — the cards we fetched say billed annually.
  • Confusing Assistant credits with workflow executions. They are separate wallets.
  • Calling Community “free automation” without staffing the server.

7. FAQ

How much does n8n Cloud cost?

The public cards we fetched list Starter at 20€/month billed annually and Pro at 50€/month billed annually, checked November 6, 2026. Enterprise is custom.

How many executions do I get on Starter?

The public Starter card we fetched did not print that quota. An official FAQ names Pro-1 at 10,000 and Pro-2 at 50,000 executions. We will not fill the gap with a guessed number.

Can I use Business on n8n Cloud?

Official Cloud FAQ: no. Business is self-hosted only at this time.
