UNFAIR ADVANTAGE / TRUST & TRANSPARENCY
How we research, test and compare software tools, correct mistakes and disclose commercial relationships.
Last updated: November 5, 2026
1. Our purpose
Unfair Advantage helps operators, marketers, founders and technical teams choose B2B software for scraping, proxies, automation, growth and advertising. We focus on practical buying questions: which tool fits a specific job, what the pricing really includes, where the limits are and what can go wrong.
2. How we research and test tools
- Documentation review: we read official product pages, documentation, pricing pages, terms and changelogs for the exact plan discussed.
- Hands-on checks when stated: when an article says a tool was tested, we describe what was tested, on which plan and when. If no hands-on test took place, the article is documentation-based research and we do not imply otherwise.
- Like-for-like comparison: we compare tools on the same criteria for the same use case, such as setup effort, features, limits, integrations, support, pricing model and compliance features.
- Evidence quality: we separate vendor claims from our own observations and from third-party sources, and we say when evidence is limited.
3. How tools make a shortlist
A tool is shortlisted when it is a credible fit for the stated use case, has clear public information and has no known issue that makes it unsuitable. Affiliate programs exist for some tools and not others. We take this into account commercially, but it is never enough on its own to include or rank a tool.
4. Scores and verdicts
Any score or verdict is our original editorial assessment for a stated scenario. A tool that is best for one team may be wrong for another. Scores are not certifications.
5. Responsible-use standard
We cover scraping, proxy and automation tools for legitimate business use. We do not publish instructions for unlawful access, fraud or abuse of other platforms, and we remind readers to comply with the law and with website terms. See our Terms of Use.
6. Accuracy, dates and corrections
Software changes fast. Articles show when they were last checked. When we find or are told about a substantive error, we correct it and update any affected recommendation. Send corrections to adternativesolutions@gmail.com.
7. Commercial relationships
We may earn affiliate commissions, as explained in our Affiliate Disclosure. Vendors cannot buy a ranking or review editorial content before publication.
