Best Web Scraping Tools for B2B Teams
There is no single “best” web scraping tool for every B2B team. Match the job: a hosted LLM context API (Firecrawl, our pick in that slice), a classic HTML scrape API (ScraperAPI, ZenRows, or ScrapingBee), an actor platform (Apify), proxy or unlocker infrastructure (Bright Data or Oxylabs), or a crawler you run yourself (Crawl4AI).
- If your pipeline feeds an LLM or agent, start with Firecrawl. Official prices checked November 6, 2026: Free $0 / 1,000 credits; Hobby $19/month or $16/month billed annually / 5,000 credits; Standard $99 or $83 / 100,000 credits.
- This is not the LLM-only shortlist. That query lives on best scraping APIs for LLMs. This page is the broader B2B category.
- Credits, GB, and compute units are not interchangeable. Compare a named workload to each vendor’s official meter, not two stickers.

1. Who this guide is for
You searched “best web scraping tools” as a B2B buyer, not as someone hunting a weekend toy parser. You need to know which category to buy before you fall in love with a logo. This page does that. It does not rerun the LLM-specific shortlist, and it does not replace the pairwise pages linked below.
Use this page when…
- You want a map of hosted scrape APIs, actor platforms, proxy infrastructure, and self-host crawlers.
- You need official prices checked November 6, 2026, attached to each category — not a ranked podium of “winners.”
- You are choosing a first vendor, then will open the dedicated review or vs page.
Use a different page when…
- The job is specifically “feed an LLM or agent” — best scraping APIs for LLMs.
- You already know the category and want a worth-it or which-plan answer — open that tool’s review or pricing URL.
- You want a pairwise duel you already have internally (Firecrawl vs ScraperAPI, vs ZenRows, vs Crawl4AI, Apify vs Firecrawl, Bright Data vs Oxylabs).
UA did not create vendor accounts or score success rates. Mentions of tools without a validated affiliate program are not sponsored and include no outbound vendor links. Firecrawl is the only top-pick button on this page because it is the validated affiliate program that matches the LLM-context slice.
2. How we compared
- Job fit. HTML collection, LLM context, actors/store jobs, proxy infrastructure, or self-host.
- Operating model. Hosted API versus platform versus raw proxies versus a library you run.
- Published billing, November 6, 2026. Credits, GB, compute units, or request packs as the vendor states them. No 1:1 conversion across rows.
We only feature vendors whose official prices we rechecked today (or whose pairing we already documented on a dedicated page using today’s figures). We do not invent a Browse-AI-style no-code card without a same-day official price, and we do not add Decodo or IPRoyal dollar figures here.
3. Job matrix
| Job | First place to look | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Markdown or JSON for agents, RAG, MCP | Firecrawl | Hosted context API. Our pick in this slice. |
| Crawler on your own machines | Crawl4AI self-host | Apache-2.0 library; you run browsers and proxies. |
| Classic HTML scrape API | ScraperAPI, ZenRows, or ScrapingBee | Credit packs and rendering/proxy multipliers, not an actor store. |
| Store actors and custom long-running jobs | Apify | Prepaid platform usage, compute units, per-actor event prices. |
| Residential/ISP/datacenter proxies or an unlocker | Bright Data or Oxylabs | Infrastructure billed in GB or a shared credit subscription — see Bright Data vs Oxylabs. |
4. Picks by job (official prices, November 6, 2026)
Firecrawl — hosted LLM context API (our pick in that slice)
Official homepage and docs: a context API for AI agents that returns Markdown or structured data. Hosted plans: Free $0 / 1,000 credits / 2 browsers; Hobby $19 or $16 annual display ($190/year) / 5,000 / 5; Standard $99 or $83 ($990/year) / 100,000 / 25; Growth $399 or $333 / 500,000 / 50; Scale $749 or $599 / 1,000,000 / 100. Basic scrape or crawl is 1 credit per page; JSON adds 4 (JSON scrape = 5). See Firecrawl review and Firecrawl pricing.
Crawl4AI — when the crawler must be yours
Apache-2.0 library: pip install -U crawl4ai, crawl4ai-setup, then AsyncWebCrawler or Docker. You pay machines. The same vendor’s cloud (soft launch): Free 1,000 credits/month; Starter $10 / 10,000 credits; Builder $99 / 125,000; Scale $499 / 750,000. Site hint: page 0.5 credit, hard site 2. Details: Firecrawl vs Crawl4AI.
ScraperAPI — classic scrape API with SERP multipliers
Official pricing: 7-day trial 5,000 credits no card; free plan 1,000 credits / 5 threads; Hobby $49 ($44.10 annual) / 100,000 credits / 20 threads / US & EU; Startup $149 ($134.10) / 1,000,000 / 50; Business $299 ($269.10) / 3,000,000 / 100 / global. Standard page 1 credit; Amazon 5; Google and Bing 25; LinkedIn 30; Cloudflare/Datadome/PerimeterX +10. JS rendering and premium proxies included. Credits do not roll over. 7-day no-questions refund. Pairwise vs Firecrawl: Firecrawl vs ScraperAPI.
ZenRows — toolkit credit wallet
Official pricing page and schema.org JSON: Free $0 / 5,000 credits / 5 concurrent / no top-ups. Build monthly $19–$39 (B1 $19 / 45,000 credits); annual display from $16. Launch monthly $69–$129; Growth $199–$399; Scale $549–$2,999. Annual advertised as pay 10, get 12. Weights: standard 1, JS 5, premium 10, protected 25; residential 25,000 credits/GB; Browser = bandwidth + 5 credits/minute. Failed requests not charged; 404/410 count as usable. Pairwise: Firecrawl vs ZenRows.
ScrapingBee — thin hosted scrape API
Official pricing: Hobby $19 / 75,000 credits / 25 concurrent; Freelance $49 / 250,000 / 50; Startup $99 / 1,000,000 / 100; Business $249 / 3,000,000 / 200; Business+ $599 / 8,000,000 / 400. Credits last one month and do not roll over. Requests start at 1 credit; JS rendering 5; premium proxies 10 or 25 depending on JS. See ScrapingBee review.
Apify — actors and a store
Official pricing: Free $0 / $5 included usage; Starter $19 ($17 annual) / $19 included; Scale $199 ($179) / $199 included; Business $999 ($899) / $999 included. Unused usage expires. Compute units: 1 CU = 1 GB RAM for one hour, at $0.20 on Free/Starter, $0.16 on Scale, $0.13 on Business. Most store actors are pay-per-event. Pairwise: Apify vs Firecrawl.
Bright Data and Oxylabs — proxy and unlocker infrastructure
These are infrastructure, not scrape APIs. Bright Data’s official proxy-network page (November 6, 2026) lists residential PAYG at $8/GB, shown at $4.00/GB with named coupon RESIGB50 and no commitment; committed rows start at $499 / 141 GB. KYC before Residential or Mobile; Web Unlocker is described as not requiring that path. Oxylabs sells one shared credit subscription: welcome $5; Starter $15, Basic $100, Flexible $500, Enterprise from $2,500 (VAT may apply). Residential $6/GB on the lower columns, then $5, $4, and $2.5/GB as plans rise. Unused Oxylabs credits expire at cycle end except on upgrade. Pairwise: Bright Data vs Oxylabs.
A worked “10,000 generic pages” sanity check
The same headline volume produces very different invoices, which is why this page refuses a single podium.
- Firecrawl Markdown: 10,000 credits → Standard at $99/month (Hobby is only 5,000). As JSON: 50,000 credits, still Standard.
- ScraperAPI generic HTML: 10,000 credits fit Hobby at $49/month. If those URLs were Google pages at 25 credits each, 10,000 × 25 = 250,000 credits — still inside Startup’s 1,000,000 at $149, but no longer a $49 story.
- ZenRows standard fetches: 10,000 credits fit Build B1 at $19 (45,000 credits). The same 10,000 as protected requests (25 credits) = 250,000 credits, which is Launch L1 at $69/month (250,000 credits) on the nose — no headroom.
- ScrapingBee standard requests: 10,000 credits sit inside Hobby’s 75,000 at $19. With JS rendering at 5 credits, 50,000 credits still fit Hobby. Premium proxies at the official 10-or-25 weight can push a JS job to 250,000 credits (Freelance’s 250,000 at $49 if every page is 25).
- Apify: there is no honest flat number. Starter is $19 of usage plus overage. A pay-per-event actor at the vendor’s own Instagram example ($2.30 / 1,000 results) would price 10,000 results at $23.
- Bright Data residential: you cannot convert “10,000 pages” into GB without measuring response size. At the published PAYG list rate of $8/GB (or $4.00/GB with the named RESIGB50 offer), a workload that truly used 20 GB would be $160 list or $80 on that offer — a different sport from any credit pack above.
- Oxylabs residential: Starter at $15/month funds residential at $6/GB up to the published 2 GB column. Twenty GB of residential traffic would not fit Starter; Basic lists $5/GB up to 20 GB on a $100 plan, which is the first column that even looks at that volume.
If the pages are not generic, reopen the vendor’s multiplier table. A 10,000-page brief is not a buying decision until you name the meter.
5. How to choose, in practice
- Write the output the rest of the stack owes itself. Markdown/JSON for a model, HTML for your parser, a scheduled dataset, or raw proxy traffic.
- Pick the operating model from the matrix above. One primary model. A second vendor is fine later if a second job appears.
- Map one week of real URLs onto that vendor’s official weights (Firecrawl JSON = 5, ScraperAPI Google = 25, ZenRows protected = 25, Bright Data GB including headers, Apify actor events + CU).
- Start on the documented free tier or trial — Firecrawl Free 1,000 credits, ScraperAPI 7-day 5,000-credit trial, ZenRows Free 5,000 credits, Apify Free $5 usage, Oxylabs $5 welcome credit, Bright Data’s published trial (trial traffic is listed as not billed on their proxy FAQ). None of those is a production plan.
- Open the dedicated page before you annual-prepay: review for worth-it, pricing for the calculator, vs for a two-way fork.
6. Pitfalls
- Using this page as a speed or success-rate benchmark. We did not run one.
- Collapsing it into the LLM guide. Teams who only need HTML should not be pushed into Firecrawl, and teams who only need Markdown should not be pushed into a GB-priced proxy network.
- Comparing Firecrawl Hobby $19, ZenRows Build $19, ScrapingBee Hobby $19, and Apify Starter $19 as equals. Four units, one coincidence.
- Treating a Bright Data promotional $4/GB residential rate as the permanent list price. The official page still prints $8/GB PAYG and names coupon RESIGB50 for the 50% display. Cite both, and expect offers to move.
- Skipping KYC. Bright Data documents a compliance process before Residential or Mobile. That is part of time-to-first-byte, not a footnote.
- Self-hosting to “save $19” without staffing browsers and proxies. Crawl4AI’s library is documented as free; your runtime is not.
7. Decision
| If the job is… | Start here |
|---|---|
| Hosted Markdown or JSON for LLMs and agents | Firecrawl — then the review and pricing pages |
| HTML collection with scrape-API credits | ScraperAPI, ZenRows, or ScrapingBee |
| Actors, store scrapers, custom jobs | Apify |
| Proxies / unlocker infrastructure | Bright Data or Oxylabs |
| Crawler on your machines | Crawl4AI self-host |
| Specifically “best scraping API for LLMs” | The LLM guide, not this page |
If you landed here without a job description, write one before you buy anything. The expensive mistake in this category is paying for the wrong meter, not missing a 10% annual discount.
8. FAQ
What is the best web scraping tool?
The one that matches the job. For hosted LLM context, our pick is Firecrawl. For HTML APIs, actor platforms, proxies, or self-host, see the matrix above.
Is Firecrawl the best scraper overall?
No, and this page does not claim that. It is our pick when the output is Markdown or structured data for agents. It is the wrong default for raw HTML at scrape-API economics or for a proxy-only purchase.
How is this different from your LLM API guide?
That page answers a narrower query. This page maps the broader B2B scraper landscape. Keeping both URLs avoids stuffing two intents into one article.
Do you earn a commission on these tools?
Only Firecrawl links on this page are affiliate links. Hidden placeholders sit in the HTML for programs that are not validated yet; they are not visible and they do not point at live vendor URLs.
Did you test these tools hands-on?
No. Evidence is official product and pricing material checked November 6, 2026.
