Direct answer

Start with the 7-day trial (5,000 credits, no card) or the free plan (1,000 credits, 5 threads). Buy Hobby ($49/month, or $44.10 annual) when generic HTML fits inside 100,000 credits and 20 threads, with US/EU geotargeting. Buy Startup ($149, or $134.10) once Google, LinkedIn, or volume overflows that bucket — 1,000,000 credits and 50 threads. Buy Business ($299, or $269.10) when you need global geotargeting or about 3,000,000 credits.

  • Official weights, checked November 6, 2026: standard page 1 credit; Amazon 5; Google and Bing (including subdomains) 25; LinkedIn 30; Cloudflare, Datadome, or PerimeterX bypass +10. JS rendering and premium proxies are included.
  • Credits do not roll over. Running out pauses the account; Hobby through Professional document auto-upgrade; Scaling and above document pay-as-you-go.
  • Whether ScraperAPI is the right product lives on the ScraperAPI review.

1. Who this pricing page is for

You already think a classic scrape API might be the product. You need the bill, by URL class — not a second review. Fit lives on the ScraperAPI review; leave paths on ScraperAPI alternatives.

UA did not generate an invoice. Figures come from the official pricing page and FAQ, checked November 6, 2026. We do not add marketplace weights the FAQ we fetched did not name. There is no affiliate button on this page.

2. Official plans and how credits work

Official credit weights: standard page 1; Amazon 5; Google and Bing (including subdomains) 25; LinkedIn 30; Cloudflare, Datadome, or PerimeterX bypass +10. JS rendering and premium proxies are included on all plans. Credits do not roll over. Exceeding concurrency returns HTTP 429 with no extra credit charge. A 7-day no-questions refund is documented.

Useful ceilings on Hobby’s 100,000 credits if that class is the only traffic: 100,000 generic pages; 20,000 Amazon pages; 4,000 Google or Bing pages; about 3,333 LinkedIn pages. Add the +10 bypass to Google and each page is 35 credits (about 2,857 pages per Hobby month).

3. Real cost by scenario

No retries. JS does not add a separate multiplier — it is included — unless the URL also carries a published hostname weight.

Scenario A — 10,000 generic pages

10,000 credits fit Hobby at $49/month (or $44.10 annual). If every URL also took the +10 bypass: 110,000 credits, which overflows Hobby and needs Startup at $149.

Scenario B — 2,000 Google pages plus 8,000 generic

2,000 × 25 = 50,000, plus 8,000 = 58,000 credits → still Hobby at $49. Double the Google slice to 4,000: 100,000 credits from Google alone, so any extra URL forces Startup. Add the +10 bypass on those 2,000 Google pages (35 each) plus 8,000 generic: 70,000 + 8,000 = 78,000, still Hobby — until Google volume grows.

Scenario C — 4,000 LinkedIn URLs a month

4,000 × 30 = 120,000 credits → Startup at $149. At 400 LinkedIn URLs a week (~1,720/month): 51,600 credits, which still fits Hobby. The jump is volume, not a hidden LinkedIn surcharge beyond the published 30.

Scenario D — 20,000 Amazon pages

20,000 × 5 = 100,000 credits, exactly Hobby’s ceiling. One extra Amazon URL, or any other class alongside, needs Startup. Amazon is cheaper per URL than Google, but it is not a 1-credit page.

Scenario E — Trial versus the free plan

The 7-day trial is 5,000 credits and no card: 5,000 generic pages, 1,000 Amazon pages, 200 Google pages, or about 166 LinkedIn pages. The ongoing free plan is 1,000 credits and 5 threads — a fifth of the trial, every month, with no top-up described on the free tier. Do not treat them as the same on-ramp.

Scenario F — Throughput, not credits

A job that fits Hobby’s 100,000 credits but needs more than 20 parallel threads is a Startup buy (50 threads), or a redesign of the fan-out. Business publishes 100 threads; Scaling 200; Professional 300; Advanced 500. 429s on the cap do not extra-bill credits.

Google + bypass (+10)35,000~2.86~28.6

A mixed month is just addition. 10,000 generic (10,000) + 3,000 Google (75,000) + 500 LinkedIn (15,000) = 100,000 credits exactly: Hobby with no spare room. Swap in 1,000 more Google pages (+25,000) and the same month is Startup. We did not invent a per-credit overage sticker for Hobby; official materials point at pause or auto-upgrade rather than a public “$X per extra 1,000 credits” pack on that tier.

4. Empty bucket, annual billing, and the refund

Credits do not roll over. Official FAQ: running out pauses the account. Hobby through Professional document auto-upgrade; Scaling and above document pay-as-you-go. Do not assume Hobby has Scaling’s PAYG. If a Google-heavy month will land at 250,000 credits every time, buy Startup (1,000,000) rather than riding Hobby into an auto-upgrade surprise.

Annual billing is 10% off: Hobby $44.10 versus $49; Startup $134.10 versus $149; Business $269.10 versus $299. Prepay only after the URL-class mix is stable — a Hobby annual on a mix that is about to become Startup wastes the discount.

The 7-day no-questions refund is the documented window to run a representative hostname sample. After that window, plan choice is an invoice decision, not a rehearsal.

5. Billing pitfalls

  • Budgeting every URL as 1 credit, then adding Google or LinkedIn.
  • Buying Hobby for geotargeting outside the US and EU (documented from Business up).
  • Confusing the 5,000-credit trial with the 1,000-credit free plan.
  • Expecting unused credits to roll over.
  • Treating 429s as extra credit charges — official wording says they are not.
  • Inventing marketplace weights the official FAQ did not name.

6. Which plan to pick

Pick the plan for the weighted mix and geotarget you will run next month. If that already feels like the wrong category of expense, reread the review: you may want a different tool, not a different ScraperAPI SKU.
